Obituary for Frances Audrey Pearson (Wright)

Frances Audrey Pearson (Wright)
Frances Audrey Pearson (nee Wright) passed away peacefully in the early morning of May 31st, 2022 at her home in Keedwell Assisted Living in Saskatoon.
She was born to Elizabeth (nee Hope) and James Wright on August 14th, 1928 at the Wadena Hospital as the second of three children. She grew up on the family farm in the Meadowbank area, helping with daily chores and attending grades 1 through 8 at the local country school. After skipping a grade and moving into Kelvington, she graduated grade 12 alongside her older sister Shirley.
After graduation Frances got a job bookkeeping at the creamery in Kelvington, spending her free time attending weekly dances and house parties with friends. It was at one of these dances that she would meet her future husband Harold Pearson, a WWII veteran who had returned home to the Nut Mountain area after the war. They would be married in the summer of 1948, shortly before her 20th birthday, and moved to a farm near Nut Mountain where they farmed until 1969.
Frances and Harold moved with their four children to the town of Hudson Bay, SK in 1969 and then eventually to an acreage outside of town where she would live for the next 30 years. While she was there, much of her time was spent homemaking and caring for various pets including the dog, Lady, and cats, Spook and Tony. After Harold passed in 1984 and her 4 kids had moved away, she was left by herself in Hudson Bay and so she decided to move back to Kelvington to be closer to her brother, Jamie and sister Shirley, in the early 2000’s. Frances later moved into Saskatoon, as her health declined.
Frances had several hobbies and interests. She was an avid reader and her book of choice was the Reader’s Digest, which she read cover-to-cover. She spent much time curling, volunteering and providing food items to the local curling canteen and followed Harold around the province to various curling bonspiels. She sewed as well and taught this to students as a 4-H leader. Gardening was a lifelong hobby of hers and she loved to work in the vegetable garden in the earlier years and could be caught bending over and tending to the flowers at her long-term care home in her later years.
She was predeceased by mother and father Elizabeth and James Wright, husband Harold Pearson, and siblings Shirley Elliott and Jamie Wright. She will be fondly remembered and missed by her son Rodney (Janis), their children Greg (Rhonda) and Scott (Theresa), their grandchildren Kai, Isaac, Emily, and Mya, and their step-grandchildren Robyn (Rory) and Troy (Maria). Daughter Heather (Bob), their children Clint, Lesley (James), and David (Lauren), and their grandchildren Ashlynn, Harper and Hallie. Daughter Holly and son Ross (Roxanne) and their children Regan (Mitch), Ashley (Bradley), and Madison (Connor). In all she leaves 10 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.

In Leiu of flowers the family asks that you please make donations to the Kelvington Legion.
