Obituary for John Arthur Fullerton

John Arthur Fullerton was born July 29th, 1933 on the Fullerton Family Farm, North East of Weekes, Saskatchewan. John was the eldest of three children born to Rupert and Doris Fullerton. He received his education at the Nixonville School.
John married Margaret Relitz in 1958, and together they had four children: Rodney, Trudi, Ian and Neil.
John was an extremely hard worker, and started working at an early age in the sawmills, and in the bush. He also worked at Simpson Timber in the winters for a number of years. His true passion in life was farming. He cleared 900 plus acres of bush to make room for more farm land. From cultivating, to seeding, to watching the different stages of growth, to harvest, he loved anything and everything to do with farming.
John was a sports enthusiast. He played ball in his early years, and the family could be found every weekend at a ball tournament. In his later years he took up curling, and farmers hockey. John enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren in all their sporting events. He also enjoyed watching his favorite baseball team: The Toronto Blue Jays, and hardly missed a game. He also watched all the National Hockey League games, except when the Hudson Bay Hunters or another team was playing in Hudson Bay. He was a great supporter of the Hudson Bay Arena. John thought one time he would try water skiing (at the age of 55) and you would never know that he had never done it before. He did awesome! John loved reading, he could always inform someone about any event in history.
John was fortunate to travel numerous times over the years. Two highlights of his many travels, were his trip to Toronto to watch the Blue Jays play, as well as his trip to Pictou County, Nova Scotia to visit his Dad's birth place.
In the late 1990's the Big Four: Ron Carson, Don Bradley, Gary Redhead, Al Janke moved in next door. John enjoyed spending time with them. Over the past few years John spent countless hours: chatting with the ladies at Good Day Café, having a coffee and lunch with his "Coffee Buddies," talking about hockey, and any other sports news. John loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in his later years.
John was predeceased by his Parents Rupert and Doris Fullerton; and Son Ian in infancy.
Left to cherish his memory is his Son Rodney (Debbie) Fullerton; Daughter Trudi (Darryl) Binkley; Son Neil (Jen) Fullerton; 10 Grandchildren; 8 Great-Grandchildren; Brother Ron (Marlene) Fullerton; Sister Joan (Vic) Hamilton, along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
