Obituary for Frank W. F. Cleverley

William Francis Cleverley “Frank” was born to William “Bill” and Jennie Cleverley on April 7th, 1938 in Hudson Bay Junction, SK. Frank was the second child born of six children: Marion, Edwin “Ted”, Trent, Jeannie, and Judy. He also had four step-siblings: Eric, Helena, Linda, and Ann.
Frank lived at Avonhurst, SK with his family while his Dad was away at war. This is where he started school. In 1945, his Dad returned home from the war and the family moved back to Hudson Bay where Frank finished school. While he was completing his schooling, he also worked clearing ditches and land for roads. After graduating, Frank joined the Air Force, where he trained as a radio technician. During this time he travelled through Canada and parts of Europe. After leaving the Air Force he worked for CP in Calgary, AB. Frank went on to work at: BA Bulk, The Timber Board, Simpson Timber, the Alfalfa Dehy Plant, The West Bay Apartments, The Hudson Bay Union Hospital, and The Elks Lodge.
On April 24th, 1962 Frank married Jean McFall and they were blessed with six children: Brenda, Billy (William), Eddie (Edwin), Gail, Gary, and Cory. Family was one of the most important parts of Frank’s life; even though he worked hard, he rarely missed an opportunity to spend time with family and friends. From family vacations to attending numerous events and activities with his many grandchildren and great grandchildren, Frank loved to be surrounded by all the special people in his life.
In May 1984, Frank and his family were deeply saddened by the loss of Jean. In time, his heart began to heal and he made room for even more family when Ruby and her family joined Franks life. Frank and Ruby George married on August 31st, 2001.
Frank was a life long learner. From the time he was a young man, he prided himself on his skills as a: mechanic, carpenter, plumber, electrician; a jack of all trades. Later on in life he obtained a certificate in locksmithing through correspondence. He was not afraid of new technology, he actually embraced it. Just recently he downloaded and printed off the owners manual for his truck so he could work on it. Frank had many interests and hobbies. He enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing, reading, and forever puttering. He was a member of The Legion and The Elks. Frank had been a very active member of The Elks for the past 31 years.
Frank was predeceased by his parents William and Jennie Cleverley; step-mothers Rose Cleverley and Anne Cleverley; his first wife Jean; brother Edwin “Ted”; great-grandson Reed Bratton; parents-in-law Archie and Cecilia McFall; parents-in-law Bill and Louise Kocay.
Left to cherish Frank’s memory is his wife Ruby George; children: Brenda (Bryon) Kipling, Billy (Lynda) Cleverley, Eddie (Kolinda) Cleverley, Gail (Robin) Mullock, Gary (Pam) Cleverley, and Cory (Dianne) Cleverley step-children: Kerry (Lolery) George, Brad George, Shelley (Otto) Lupuliak, Lawrie (Roxanne) George, Tracy (Rod) Frank; 29 grandchildren; 8 step-grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren; sisters: Marion Block, Jean (Mervin) Ragan and Judy Cleverley; brother Trent (Jenna) Cleverley; along with numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
