Obituary for Donald Louie Sawatzky

Donald Louie Sawatzky was born on February 9, 1956 in The Pas, Manitoba to Adeline Asmus. Donald was raised and received his education in Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan.
On May 9th, 1987, Donald married Judy Simpson. To this union of marriage joined Judy’s sons Vince and Todd, and were blessed with the addition of son Dwayne, and daughters Lana and Shelly.
Don’s love of the outdoors led him to a long and fruitful career as a Heavy Equipment Operator in the Logging Industry. For the past 5 years, Don was employed by Lutz Logging. Don enjoyed his work and looked forward to the “Break-up”parties of Spring Break. It was because of his love for the outdoors that he enjoyed spending time fishing. He also loved sports; he was a very involved Hockey Dad with his son Dwayne, and also loved watching Football and Hockey. Visiting with family and friends was also a favorite pastime, and whenever he had the chance to he loved to go to yard sales. Don’s ancestry led him to become a vital member of the Metis Society of Saskatchewan, where he was currently holding the position of President of the Local Hudson Bay Chapter.
Don was predeceased by his Son Dwayne; Grandmother Agnes, Uncle Clarke, Aunty Norene (chick), Father-in-law Robert, Sister-in-law Helen, and Brothers-in-law Mervin and Art.
He is survived by his Wife Judy; Sons: Vincent (Jamie), and Todd (Becky); Daughters: Lana (David) and Shelly (Jared); Mother Addy; Brother Jim (Karen); Grandchildren: Myles, Devon, Cole, Kalan, Jersey, Tyron, Brett, Neela, Aryan, Shaylee, and Asher; Brother-in-law Jack (Laura); Sisters-in-law: Yvonne, Shirley, Bernice (Bob) and Annette; Cousin Gary Grier; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
