Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Perrie Szmul can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Perrie John Szmul

Perrie John  Szmul
Perrie John Szmul was born November 5th, 1962 in Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan to parents John and Irene Szmul. Perrie grew up and received his education in Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan.
Perrie was blessed with two sons Jerrod and Kyle. In 2003, he met Audrey Stauber and became step-father to Rodney and Kurtis.
Perrie spent the majority of his life logging in the bush. He also was a wildlife guide. For the last 10 years, Perrie and Audrey owned and operated the Fir River Ranch.
Perrie enjoyed the outdoors; hunting, fishing, and gardening were some of his favourite pastimes. He also had a love for horses. Perrie’s family meant everything to him and he loved spending time with them.
Perrie was predeceased by his parents John and Irene Szmul; sisters Jane Courchene and Lorette Chase; Audrey’s parents Joseph and Louise Stauber; brothers-in-law Lawerence Courchene and Gerry Hermann; and sisters-in-law Arlene Hermann and Shirley Johanson.
Left to cherish Perrie’s memory is his spouse Audrey Stauber; sons Jerrod Szmul and Kyle Szmul; step-sons Rodney (Natalie) Freve and Kurtis (Michelle) Freve; grandchildren Karsin Szmul, Brayden Freve and Johnnessa Freve; sisters: Ferne (Billy) Lynch, Terry (Ray) Kallis, Marion (Charlie) James, Judy (Allan) Riddoch, and Myra (Pat) Strachan; brother Kelvin (Lori) Szmul; brothers-in-law Clifford (Linda) Stauber and Jack Johanson; sisters-in-law Gloria Meyers and Leeann (Gene) Gerspacher; along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
