Obituary for Donald Michael Cal

Donald Michael Cal was born February 3rd, 1955 in Porcupine Plain, SK to parents Olga and Michael Cal. Don grew up on a farm outside of Weekes, SK, before the family shifted into town.
Don farmed from 1967-1969, before beginning work in the forestry industry for John Borowetz. He then moved to McKenzie, BC, there he worked as a tugboat, skidder and loader operator. In 1972, Mika Creek, BC provided seasonal work for Don in the summer months. In the winter, Don would return to Saskatchewan for winter work in the bush as a skidder operator and running the power saw. After Forestry in 1977, he took welding in Nelson B.C. where he obtained a DPW3 Ticket From there, he got a job at Rodger’s Pass working the under ground tunnels. Don worked for BC Hydro for several years. Don moved back to Saskatchewan in 1985 residing in Hudson Bay, SK and continued his work in the bush and owned a taxi service for a number of years.
Don was blessed with two children, son D.J. in 1980 and daughter Tara in 1981. Don enjoyed going hunting, trapping, and fishing in his spare time.
Don was predeceased by his mother Olga and father Michael.
He is survived by his children D.J, and Tara; sister Helen, brothers: Bill, Joe, and Eric; along with numerous relative, and friends.
