Obituary for Jerome (Jerry) Keith Hawley

Jerome (Jerry) Hawley was born on November 9, 1946 in Hudson Bay, SK to parents Percy (Red) and Doris (nee Walker) Hawley. Jerry grew up in Hudson Bay, SK where he received his education.
Jerry married Yvonne Cartier on April 14, 1976 in Vegreville, Alberta. To this union two children were born, Stacy and Troy. Throughout the years Jerry spent most of his working career Logging, he loved working in the bush. He also spent time doing Iron Work - welding.
Jerry loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time fishing and hunting. He also liked to work on the vehicles in the back yard. Jerry seemed to always be on the go. It was like he had a fire in his pants. Jerry could be known as a very stubborn person, but he would always be there to help when needed.
After the passing of his wife Yvonne in 1994, Jerry mostly kept to himself. With that being said, his door was always open to his friends. Those that visited Jerry would always be offered refreshments, he loved his beer and whiskey and enjoyed hanging out with his friends on weekends.
Jerry loved children and loved to play games with them, he always had a favourite game to play with them. He would always make his children a bet that if he spanked them and they didn’t cry he would give them five dollars. Most of the time they didn’t cry, however because of these bets, when they did get into trouble their Mom would get so mad because they would just laugh as the spanks didn’t hurt anymore.
Jerry was predeceased by his father Percy (Red); mother Doris; wife Yvonne; niece Jaylene Palaniuk; and nephews Jason Parski and Porter Hawley.
He is survived by his daughter Stacy Hawley; son Troy Hawley (Charmaine); grandchildren: Charmaine, Keagan and Isabel; great-grandchildren: Tage, Ellasandra and Nickolai; brothers: John, Harold (Lexis), Glen and Lorne; sister Carla (Curtis) Palaniuk; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Jerry was a good father and friend. Jerry’s family would like to send out a special thanks to all of his friends who tried to help him out over the last few months. Especially to those who went out to check up on him or take him to Town for whatever he needed. Those people know who they are, so thank-you again.
