Obituary for Violet Hannah Borowetz (Rudy)

Hannah Violet Borowetz was born in the Canora Union Hospital on July 7, 1937 to parents Alex & Mary Rudy. Violet was raised on a farm in the Mohyla District, northeast of Canora, Saskatchewan. Violet attended school in the Mohyla District where she took Elementary to grade eight, and then for one year attended the Sturgis High School.
At a young age, Violet moved to Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan where she lived and helped her sister Annie & Steve Charko. It was in Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan where Violet met Mike Borowetz. They were married on September 1, 1956, together they farmed and raised their four children.
Violet had a passion for cooking, gardening, planting flowers and trees, especially rows of Lilac’s, various fruit trees, and rows of different raspberries and strawberries, and was very talented with knitting and crocheting. She enjoyed Ukrainian Music, and enjoyed listening to the Saturday Night Dance Party on CJWW. She also loved playing guitar at home and often would sing Country Music songs with her family, especially with her sister Victoria.
Violet was predeceased by her parents Alex and Mary; husband Mike; daughter Caroline; grandson Michael; brothers: Walter in infancy, Bill (Lily), Marvin and John (Mary); sisters: Marie in infancy, Annie (Steve), Olga (Fred) and Victoria; brother-in-law Frank; niece Marcella; and nephews: Walter Zelinski and James Rudy.
Violet will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by daughters: MaryAnne and Olga; son John (Trudy); grandchildren: Joanne, Jennifer (Jason), Cassie (Eric), Stacy (Kim), Tracy, Amanda (Brandon), Melanie (Shawn) and Chris (Destiny); great-grandchildren: Jaiden, Jarin, Jacob, Madison, Ella, Maggie-Jo, Hope, Bohdan, Kara, Jamie, Alyssa, Samantha, Victoria, Andrea, Hailey, Mathew, Kayla, Chloe, Liam and Cody; best friend Edna; her special pet “Beila”; sisters-in-law: Emily, Anne (Bill), Mary, Katie (Roman), Stella and Olga (Orest); brothers-in-law: Fred, John, Steve (Angeline), Metro (Olga) and Peter; special niece Olga as well as several other nieces and nephews.
