Obituary for Lilly Freyling (Hoffman)

Lilly Freyling (nee Hoffman) was born on March 20, 1930 at home on the farm near Spalding, SK to parents Edward and Adela Hoffman. Lilly grew up in the Spalding area, taking her grades 1 - 8 at the Sunnyview School and completing grades 9 - 12 at the Spalding School. Following graduation Lilly attended Normal School in Moose Jaw, SK where she received her Teaching Certificate.
Lilly began her teaching career where her education first started at the Sunnyview School. She spent five years teaching there. She would eventually spend another 17 years teaching at the Prairie River School spending a few years serving as the Principal.
Lilly married Edward Freyling on August 10, 1956. To this union joined three children, Lorna, Sharon and Marvin.
Lilly strong faith led her to become very involved with the Lutheran Church in Mistatim, SK. She was very instrumental in assisting with the development and forming of the Church in Prairie River, SK. Lilly loved baking, cooking, gardening, crocheting, reading, and found great pride in organizing School functions especially the Christmas concerts as well as organizing family events. Family was very important to Lilly, she was the glue that held them together. She stayed close with her grandchildren and sisters.
Following Edward’s passing at an early age, Lilly remained on the Family Farm. In 2012, Lilly moved to Maidstone, SK to be closer to her now grown family. In July of 2016, Lilly moved to Fabyan, AB to be with her Daughter Lorna, where she resided until her passing.
Lilly was predeceased by her parents Edward & Adela (nee Kindopp) Hoffman; parents-in-law Martin & Antonia Freyling; husband Edward Freyling; sister Gertrude; brothers: Leo, Harold and Edward; sisters-in-law: Nora and Joan; brothers-in-law: Martin, Ted, Garfield, Alvin and Joseph.
Lilly is survived by her children: Lorna (Terry) Mulessa, Sharon Jackson (John Brick) and Marvin Freyling; grandchildren: Misty, Marnie (Ray), Scott (Roxy), Jesse (Tiffany), Jolene (Jeremy), Charlene, Edward (Shelley) and Connor; great-grandchildren: Jayden, Maria (Jessie), Katherine, Ashton, Emmi, Hannah, Jayden, Anna, Lily, Morgan, Aubree, and Reece; great-great-granddaughter Kinsley; sisters: Lynn, Helen and Lorraine (Ray); sisters-in-law: Shirley, Freda, Sally, Doris (Albert) and Doreen; brothers-in-law: Leo and Jerome; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
