Obituary for Joseph Shuflada

Joseph Shuflada was born and raised on the Shuflada farm in the High Tor District south of Porcupine Plain, Saskatchewan. He took his schooling at High Tor and worked on the family farm, getting up wood and helping with chores. Joe quit school and decided to go out to work, so he headed south to Regina, Saskatchewan.
Once in Regina, he worked as a masonry for a few years and then decided to go to work in Cafe’s. He first began working washing dishes and eventually worked his way up to be a Meat Chef. After several years of working in Cafe’s, Joe got sick and could no longer perform his duties.
Joe returned to the family farm for 2 years, of which he was in and out of Hospital. He was then placed at the Porcupine Opportunities Program for a while, when things didn’t work there, he was placed at an approved home in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan where he continued going to the Kinsmen Workshop. Joe’s health began to fail him again, and he moved back to the Red Deer Nursing Home in Porcupine Plain, SK so he could be closer to his family where he resided until his passing.
Joe was predeceased by his father John, mother Nellie, brothers: Walter and Russell, and niece Marilyn.
He leaves to mourn his brother Steve and sister-in-law Pearl of Porcupine Plain, Saskatchewan, nephew Terry of Edson, Alberta, great-nephews: Joshua (Alta), Brett (McKenna), Stephan and Benjamin all of Edson, Alberta, and many family and friends.
