Obituary for Marcy Hannah Morton

Marcy Hannah Morton
Marcy Hannah Morton was born February 26, 2001 to Shelley and Dion Morton in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. From a young age, she shared a love for the outdoors - hunting, fishing, and camping. She especially enjoyed camping up at Wekusko Falls, swimming, tubing, and competing to catch the biggest fish amongst family members. She was especially proud of her 6 point bull elk she shot in September of 2014.
Marcy was honoured to become a big sister to Ali and Alix, who were born just after her 6th birthday. Growing up, she was like a mother hen - planning and preparing different activities for both her twin sisters and all of her younger relatives. She enjoyed spending time with all extended family and cousins at Christmas, New Year's, and Family Weddings. Some of her past times with her family include playing cards, sledding, quadding, and having wiener roasts on the many trail ride adventures they took.
Marcy was passionate about so many different sports. In baseball, she won two silver provincial medals with the Hudson Bay Laser softball team. In hockey, she was a great forward, who was capable of stepping up to the plate and playing defence when it was asked of her. Marcy was a fast skater and a positive teammate and leader. Her sportsmanship carried over through dance where she had a passion for jazz, hip hop, modern, and most recently, ballet. She completed her Grade 3 Royal Academy of Dance Certification, as well as Grade 3 Jazz Certification from the Canadian Dance Teacher's Association. She was a committed member to the Hudson Bay Dance Centre as both an assistant and a student. Her drive to succeed won her numerous awards and medals, such as: Most Promising Modern Solo and Most Outstanding Lyrical Duet Performance with her cousin, Claire Crittenden.
Marcy was a smart, kind, and loving individual. She was a caring big sister, daughter, granddaughter, great granddaughter, cousin, niece and friend. She will be dearly missed and her spirit will live on in our hearts forever. Marcy: "you're just the best."
Marcy was predeceased by her great grandmas: Eileen Crittenden, Eileen Leason, Jessie Chadwick and Marie Chadwick; her great grandfathers: Avelle Leason, Harry Crittenden, Richard Morton, Fred Winter and Sid Chadwick, her aunts Carol Lafrance and Patty Leason; and her cousins Mitchell Lafrance and Greg Morin.
She is survived by her Parents: Shelley and Dion, Sisters: Ali and Alix, Grandparents: Grandma Linda and Grandpa Bruce, Grandma Val and Grandpa David, Great Grandma Doris, Uncle Glen (Andrea) Crittenden; Cousins: Jordan, Cole, Claire, and Aaron, Auntie Angie (Allan) Hue; Cousins: Megan and Reece, Auntie Cherie (Ole) Shoemaker; Cousins: Blake and Zoey, Auntie Tara (Jeff) Nernberg; Cousin: Brooke, Uncle Chad (Brittany) Morton; Cousins: Chase and Hayden, her Best Friend Brook Melnychuk, Boyfriend Aaron Melnychuk, and all extended aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
