Obituary for Marion Verna Drechsler
Marion Verna Drechsler (Ashdown) was born October 25th, 1924 on a farm near Melfort, Saskatchewan to parents Elmer and May Ashdown. Marion grew up on a farm North East of Melfort, Saskatchewan and received her education at Thackstead School, 2 miles North of the family farm.
Marion met and married Arvin Drechsler on October 20th, 1956. The couple farmed together, then were blessed with two sons Glen Drechlser in 1961 and Bruce in 1964. Marion was a homemaker and worked along side Arvin, on the farm. Marion belonged to the Apostolic Church Group. She loved gardening, baking, reading and writing letters to friends and family.
Marion was predeceased by her father Elmer Ashdown; mother May Ashdown; sisters: Evelyn White, Florence Bushman and Jean Cable.
Left to cherish Marion’s memory is her husband Arvin; Sons Glen (Susan) Drechsler and Bruce Drechsler; Grandchildren: Jerrod (Jeanine) Drechsler, Lindsey (Jason) Kocay, Devin (Riley) Drechsler; Great-Grandchildren: Karley and Myden Kocay, Kalem and Lucas Drechsler. Brothers Lawrence Ashdown and Ross (Ann) Ashdown, along with numerous relatives and friends.
