Obituary for Elsie Rose Lessard (Wehner)

Elsie Lessard was born on May 21, 1932 in St. Gregor, SK to parents Oscar and Beatrice Wehner. Elsie grew up in St. Gregor and received her education in the South St. Gregor Country School.
On January 1, 1949, Elsie married Philip Leffler. To this union five children were born: Ron (1950), LaVerne (1952), Denise (1957), Ross (1969), and Michelle (1975). Together while raising their family, Elsie and Philip farmed in the Leroy area. In 1969, Philip became employed in Hudson Bay, SK at MacMillan Bloedel and the family moved from their farm.

After the passing of her husband Philip in 1976, Elsie married Charlie Skipper in October of 1977. Together they shared many years enjoying the many simple treasures in life. Charlie passed away in 1987. After spending time alone, Elsie and her companion Gene Lessard were blessed in marriage on October 5, 1991. Together Elsie and Gene found a new lease on life, and they would spend a wonderful 17 years together until Gene’s passing in 2008.
Elsie loved to Golf, and was a member of the Hudson Bay Golf Club, her love of being outdoors gave her great enjoyment when camping, fishing and gardening. She also found enjoyment in quilting, plastic canvas, knitting, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
