Condolence: My deepest sympathy to the entire Steiestol family on the loss of your beloved mom, grandma and great grandmother. Your mom has left an amazing legacy of faith, love and strong work ethic for her family. Your mom was like a beacon - her face would light up into a radiant smile whenever I. would see her. I remember meeting her for the first time when Cheryl invited me to stay over for the weekend when she had finished building a barn and there was a barn dance that weekend. What a flurry of activity preparing for the event but what a fun time when family, neighbours and friends came together for this celebration. I remember falling asleep that night listening to the piano and singing taking place upstairs once the party moved into the house. May you savour sweet precious memories of a life well lived. I am sure the Lord's words to her as he welcomed her home were "Well done thy good and faithful servant".

Condolence: My heart felt condolences to all of Laurel's family. I have so many wonderful memories of your mom and they all make me smile. My last visit with her was also with Sally and mom. She was invited out to eat at a restaurant with us and she very quickly reminded us that the Lord has provided her with a wonderful garden, meat to eat and a warm home to cook a meal in. She also said he provided her friends and family to enjoy a meal with so why would we choose to eat away from home. She embraced and was thankful of what the Lord provided. I know she is rejoicing with the Lord and long past family and friends at a wonderful banquet. May the Lord bless you and comfort you at this time and bring smiles with your memories of your mom.

Condolence: Thank you for this opportunity to post a few parting words about my Aunt Laurel.

I am so sorry Laurel has left us now. We can be comforted that she is with Uncle Odd; whom she has sorely missed for 28 years.

Throughout my life, Aunt Laurel has always been good to me and welcomed me into her home. I looked forward to visiting / talking with her as something interesting to learn / discuss occurred. Her garden / yard / property / wood work shed were her pride and joy. She always vocaled very strong, loyal, and deep feelings about her family (children, etc.). She would talk about her children (and grand kids, etc.) with love, pride, and wonderment. She was proud to be a matriarch of such a sizable and healthy family.

I have to say this again .... Aunt Laurel was not shy to say she was proud of and loved her children. My cousins, based on what I have witnessed, you will always be well loved. I have heard the words and seen the actions over the years and that does not end when a loved one moves onward to be with our Creator.

Peace be with you, my cousins and your families. I have good memories.

Condolence: My thoughts go out to all the family. I have very fond memories of staying at your farm when I was a young girl. I was always bugging Laurel to take me out with her to do the chores. She always let me tag along and took the time to show me how to milk the cows etc! My other cherished memories were of the parents having their weekend party's and us kids would lay in bed waiting for the organ or piano to start up and the singing would start! Laurel was a wonderful lady who loved her music. She will be singing with my mom from above!

Condolence: My heartfelt sympathy, thoughts and prayers to your family. Growing up with you all, we have some wonderful memories. Your Mom was always so energetic. Funny how one remembers some things - like the wine barrel and her homemade canned suckers (salmon). After your Dad passed Laurel would never drive through town without stopping at Mom and Dads. They looked forward to her visits. Of course Mom never failed to mention how much younger your Mom was. I was happy that I had a bit of a chance to reconnect when I drove her to Maple Creek a few years ago. Certainly made that trip go faster as she was never short on words. Our parents were close in a way that is difficult to describe but we all benefited from their friendship through the years. But they are all together again and I can only imagine the trouble that they are getting into now. God will have his hands full I am sure.
