Obituary for Wesley Kadun

Wes was born to Jacob and Nadia Kadun on a family farm in Minitonas, MB on March 14th, 1942. He attended a country school near the area until Grade 4, before the family moved to a farm near Swan River, MB. It was here that Wes completed his education; graduating in 1960.
Wes worked in Swan River with an electrician; Thompson, MB in the mine and Calgary, AB as an electrician before coming to Hudson Bay, SK to join his brother Alex. This is where he met his wife Alice in 1966. The couple married on August 18th, 1967 and remained in Hudson Bay, while Wes worked for the town until 1970. Wes did not like to stay in one spot or job for too long. He accepted a job in Lloydminster as a public works foreman, then in Prince Albert as a salesmen with Redhead Equipment in 1975. In his years as a salesman he worked for Komatsu and had a chance to travel to Japan to the factory. Wes was very happy when he and Alice were blessed with their son David in 1979.
In 1984 the family moved to Porcupine Plain where Wes ran Gulf Bulk and later, Petro Can. When Wes was no longer needed at Petro Can., he went trucking (mainly delivering campers) all over North America.
Wes belonged to the Lions on Economic Development Committee, and a member of the Wildlife Club in the various places he lived.
He loved to watch David play hockey and ball and tell him what he did wrong. In his earlier years, Wes loved to visit his family in B.C. He also enjoyed: camping, hunting, skidooing, and going to auction sales. Wes was able to go to one last auction sale with his brother-in-law Tony, a few days before his passing. He loved to visit his son and family; he would brag about his granddaughters in the coffee shop. He also loved to have discussions (which we thought were arguments) with his friends, sister-in-law Marie, daughter-in-law Jen, and nieces Shannon and Angela.
Wes was predeceased by his Parents Jacob and Nadia; Brother Alex (Helen); Niece-in-law Joanne;
Brother-in-law Dmitry; Nephew Alex; also by his Mother and Father-in-law Annie and Mike Yanciw; Brother-in-law Hughie; and Sister-in-law Jeannette.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years Alice; Son David (Jen); Grandchildren Hailey and Jessica; Sisters Sonia (Alex) and Marie; Sister-in-law Marie (Tony); Brother-in-law Dennis (Maureen), along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends
