Obituary for M. Zonie Sylvia Willerton (Genaille)

Zonie (Mary Zonie Sylvia Genaille) was born September 14, 1950 in Perigord, Saskatchewan. She was the fifth child of Alfred & Annie Genaille. Zonie spent her youth growing up on the family farm. It was always eventful and happy by the stories she told about her youth. She met and married Alden Willerton on May 1, 1970. After a short stint in Thompson, Manitoba where they moved for work, she and Alden came back to Chelan to reside and raise their four boys Trevor, Trent, Tyler, and Todd. While helping raise four boys, she waitressed at Chelan Hotel and H & L Diner, and later on worked as a caregiver at the Porcupine Group Home.
Zonie had an infectious smile and an unmistakable laugh. although she never weighed much more than 100 lbs; everyone knew not to cross her, especially the four boys and their friends because the pulling out of one switch would make everybody fall in line; even big Mark. Her greatest joy was her four boys and grandchildren Ayla, Alana, Rylie, Dylan, Logan, Treyton, Jasmin and Tanner. They could do no wrong in her eyes, especially Rylie, and they all got even better after a couple glasses of wine.
After Alden’s passing she found it lonely in the big house all by herself and eventually moved in with Murray Smith who was a fellow widower and enjoyed a lot of the same outdoor activities: hunting, quadding, fishing and in general being outdoors. This added ten more people to her family Alan, Gerald, Loreena and their spouses and children who she loved as if they were her own.
Zonie leaves behind her son Trevor (Debbie) and Ayla, Alana, and Rylie; son Trent (Shannon) and Tanner; son Tyler (Tammy) and Dylan and Logan; and son Todd (Janel) and Treyton and Jasmin; life partner Murray Smith; Murray’s children: son Allan (Moe) and Trevor; son Gerald (Tina) and Kaelyn and Rielly; and daughter Loreena (Curtis) and Drayton; plus numerous brothers and sisters, brothers and sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Alden and her parents Alfred & Annie Genaille.
