Obituary for Dorothy Ethel Tessmer (Rosenfeldt)

 Dorothy Ethel Tessmer was born August 16th, 1938 in Crooked River, Saskatchewan. She was the fourth child of twelve born to parents Jacob and Katherine Rosenfeldt. Dorothy grew up and received her education in Reserve, Saskatchewan
Dorothy married Garth Tessmer on November 12, 1960. Together the couple settled on a farm Northwest of Somme, Saskatchewan; where they were blessed with three children: Mavis, Garnet and Curtis. The couple remained on the farm until 2005; they then moved to Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan.
Dorothy was a member of the Royal Purple in Weekes for many years and several of those years as an Honored Royal Lady. She was also a long term member of the Somme Curling Club both as an active curler and as the Secretary of the Club. Dorothy enjoyed traveling with her friends throughout Canada and the United States, with her sisters each summer to various destinations and to family reunions within Western Canada. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading, and playing bingo. Dorothy took great pride in her garden and her flowers, she also loved to decorate; her house and yard were always decorated for holidays. After the move to Hudson Bay, bowling became one of Dorothy’s favourite pastimes.
Dorothy was predeceased by her parents Jacob (Jake) and Katherine (Tena) Rosenfeldt; sister Elsie Pahlke and brother Brian Rosenfeldt.
Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 53 years Garth Tessmer; daughter Mavis Tessmer; sons Garnet (Brenda) Tessmer and Curtis Tessmer; granddaughter Kristen Jaleel (Alex Bogdanovich), along with her loving sisters, brothers, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, great-nieces and nephews as well as numerous relatives and friends.
