Tom Derenowski
Tom Derenowski passed away Sunday, March 16th, 2014 in Porcupine Plain. Tom was born in Roblin. Manitoba on November 4th, 1921. His parents Paul and Mini settled with their children on a homestead in High Tor Saskatchewan in 1929. As a young man Tom worked in bush camps. For several winters he worked as a camp cook. Tom was known for his clean kitchen and delicious food. He continued cooking throughout life as a hobbie. Tom then moved to Alberta where he worked across the province in road construction. In mid-life he married Olive Howard. Together they raised Olive’s children from her first marriage. Tom and Olive lived for a time in North Battleford. After Olive passed away Tom returned to Porcupine Plain, where he was a long time resident at Red Deer Nursing Home. Tom was very appreciative of the quality of care he received there. Tom loved socializing. He was always kind and generous to friends and family. Tom loved animals and enjoyed caring for pets. Tom was such a gentle person he never had a word of criticism or anger towards anyone.
Tom was predeceased by his Wife Olive; Parents Mini and Paul; Stepmother Annie; Siblings: John, Bill, Pete, Nick and Annie.
Tom is survived by his Brothers Mike and Walter, along with numerous relatives and friends.
